About Sheila Klopper

Sheila
J. Klopper has been a licensed investigator since September, 1988, and with
her business operating in San Jose since December 1988. She is also a Santa
Clara County registered process server. She holds the designation of Certified
Criminal Defense Investigator (C.C.D.I.) through the Defense Investigators
Training Academy.
Sheila's experience prior to becoming a private investigator consisted of three years in retail, 10 years in Social Services, 5 years of teaching/coaching physical education of junior high and high school girl's athletics, 7 years as a photo journalist and qualified MP in a Military Police U.S. Army Reserve Brigade in San Jose. 12 years law enforcement primarily as a reserve police office and approximately one year as a regular police officer. Sheila specializes in criminal defense, civil litigation, locates, and service of process. She is a sole proprietor with employees, and is a member of the Santa Clara County Legal Aid Society Conflicts Panel of investigators. Additionally, she is a contract employee actively involved with the Northern California Innocence Project (NCIP) through Santa Clara University School of Law Clinic assisting students with their investigations on claims of innocence by imprisoned defendants. As a volunteer in the community, Sheila has been a puppy raiser and leader with Guide Dogs for the Blind out of San Rafael, and is a member of the California Rescue Dog Association (CARDA), an organization of volunteers and their dogs who search for missing people, assist law enforcement, and respond to earthquakes and disasters in an effort to save lives. One of her employees is a Mission Ready Handler with her Boxer Deja. Sheila regularly presents the Hug-a Tree and Survive program at elementary and junior high school levels. This program is designed to help children know basic survival skills if they are ever lost in the wilderness. Sheila has her B.S. Degree in Human Performance with a minor in Business Administration and a California Single Subject Teaching Credential. She regularly attends seminars and conferences through her association memberships, and is occasionally a presenter in the area of Starting a PI Business, Database Research, and Jury Debriefing at these various conferences, e.g. CACJ-DP Conference, CALI, DIA, NALI, INTELNET and Women Defenders. She was awarded 'Investigator of the Year' for 2004 through the California Association of Licensed Investigators (CALI), which is almost 2000 members strong. |
